I Am Nothing
What made me think I could succeed?
That's impossible for me.
I'll never realize my dreams.
i am nothing and i am you is an etching that I did over four decades ago as part of my senior project in college. That small voice spoke to me then and still speaks to me today. It's the voice of self-doubt whispering I'm not good enough.
That condemnation doesn't come from our Creator.
God tells us that He loves us.
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you." (Jeremiah 29:11-13 NIV)
A recent Florida Christian Writer's Conference workshop, Preparing Your Heart and Spirit for Success by Karen Ball and Erin Taylor Young, reminded me that God wants us to succeed. Our responsibility is to be grounded in His Word. Only in our obedience to His plan and in honoring Him can we become truly successful. We are each special, one of a kind. God has a plan that only we can fulfill and He will prepare us for the journey. Our part is to step out in faith and do His will.
May the LORD bless you on your journey.
